Sakura onigiri recipe

These onigiri look so pretty and smell so wonderful that you might hesitate to eat them.
The saltiness of the cherry blossoms and the sweetness of the rice will stimulate your appetite.

Ingredients
3 and half cups (About 400g) steaming hot rice
3 tablespoons salted sakura blossoms
450 ml water
Salt as needed

Directions

  1. Gently wash the sakura blossoms and put into a small bowl.
    Add 450ml of water.
    Let sit for 3 minutes.
  2. Drain the blossom, pat dry and chop into fine pieces.
  3. Mix with the hot rice.
  4. Make onigiri with your hands or with onigiri molds.

Spice it up by adding sesame seeds or chopped greens to the mixture!
