About Akabeko
Akabeko is a local toy in the shape of a cow that has been made in Aizu Wakamatsu City, Fukushima Prefecture.
Today, Akabeko is considered a tourist souvenir of the Tohoku region, but in the olden days, it was called “yakuyaku-yoke (cow to ward off evil)” or “good luck cow,” and was loved by the people of Aizu as a good luck charm to ward off evil spirits and epidemics.
These are several products in the same series.
